Question: In the Bloomberg API, instead of my data displaying, I see nothing or get an error message. How do I fix this?


The Excel API may display no results if your query has been built in such a way that it is returning zero results. This is not uncommon for first-time users. Try experimenting with your query and consulting Bloomberg's support documentation and training videos using the DAPI command.

Data limits:

If the Bloomberg Excel API is not working, it is likely that the daily or monthly data download limit has been reached and downloading via the terminal has been disabled. These error messages may display in Excel when downloading is disabled: #N/A Unknown; #N/A Mth Lmt; #N/A Limit; #N/A Authorization. Please report the problem via Ask A Librarian email (select "Business" as your subject) and move to another terminal.
