Q. How do I use E-ZBorrow?

Answer

Only NYU students, faculty and staff at New York and Abu Dhabi may use E-ZBorrow. Some New School users also have access through their library. Other consortium users, guest borrowers, and Friends of Bobst are not eligible for E-ZBorrow.

If you are eligible for the service, you can search the E-ZBorrow catalog. If you are searching Bobcat, you will also see E-ZBorrow as the first suggestion if your search results in no items. If you find an item in our catalog that is checked out or unavailable, a blue "request" button may offer you an E-ZBorrow search option.

Once you have found the item you need, you will be able to place a request if two conditions are met: An E-ZBorrow library has the book available to lend, and your library does not have a copy you can borrow (i.e. if Bobst has a copy available for checkout, NYU users will not be able to request the item via E-ZBorrow). At this point, you can choose the library where you would like to pick up the item, and place your request.

You will receive a confirmation email when the request is placed and another when the book is available to be checked out at your selected location. You will have 10 days to pickup the book before it is returned. Once the item is picked up, your checkout period is twelve weeks with no renewals. Please be mindful of the due date, which is on the band and also in your library account. Never remove E-ZBorrow bands: they contain information which helps us discharge the item from your account and return the book to the library which lent it to us.
