Can I use the Business Library’s subscriptions for my internship?

The NYU Business Library’s licenses to electronic resources (e.g. databases, e-journals, ebooks, etc.) are for current students, faculty, and staff. Our licensing agreements are very explicit about how these resources can - and cannot - be used. The following are some examples of what is appropriate and inappropriate use of databases per the licensing agreements for experiential client projects, internships, and current employers:

  • All databases can be used in order to inform your recommendations.
  • You are allowed to use excerpts or summarize small portions of reports, articles, data and other documents for inclusion in presentation decks and papers.
  • You can never share full or substantial portions of reports, articles, spreadsheets, data, etc. from licensed resources with employers or at internships.

If you are unsure or have questions the business librarians are available to answer your questions and to recommend alternative search strategies and/or guidance. Please contact the Business Library via our help form.
