HBR Articles

Articles from Harvard Business Review (both articles published in the print magazine and the digital articles published on HBR.org) are available electronically via NYU Libraries’ subscription to EBSCO’s Business Source Complete for individual research and study. 

However, HBR Publishing has a strict license agreement that prohibits linking to HBR articles from Business Source Complete for classroom or teaching use. This restriction applies to Course Reserves, Brightspace, course syllabi, and websites. 

Please note, HBR has developed the 500 most popular HBR articles as read-only within Business Source Complete. They cannot be downloaded, printed, or linked to.

HBR Cases

Approximately 2,000 Harvard Business Publishing cases are available in HBS Select Case Study Collection via EBSCO. If a case is available in the database, it can be linked to electronic Course Reserves for your class. Please note that not all HBR cases are available in the database.

Instructors are encouraged to set up a free Harvard Business Impact account to access cases and teaching notes.

Requesting Harvard Business Review Articles and Cases for Classes

If you need HBR articles or cases that are not available through the NYU libraries' subscription, please contact the appropriate department for your campus to set up a course pack for your students.

• New York courses: please contact the Bookstore.

• Shanghai courses: for the graduate business program, contact shanghai.stern.operations@nyu.edu. For undergraduate-level courses, contact the Academic Affairs office at shanghai.textbooks@nyu.edu. 

• Abu Dhabi Courses: For undergraduate courses, contact the NYUAD Bookstore at nyuad.bookstore@nyu.edu. For postgraduate courses, faculty should create course packs in their personal Harvard Business Impact Educator Account, and students will purchase them directly from HBR. Questions about the availability of articles and cases can be directed to NYUAD Library at nyuad.library@nyu.edu.
