EmpowerU is a first-generation student support program that consolidates existing resources under one name, with a renewed focus on self-awareness, student voice, and community care. A first-generation student at NYU Shanghai is the first person in their family to attend university or does not receive guidance to help them navigate university life.

Students who are accepted into the EmpowerU program will receive priority access to TextbookForward each semester.
