NYU Libraries' FAQs

Several library-subscribed databases and resources can provide online training and certificates when you finish the required courses/modules.

LinkedIn Learning: 

• You can watch all the online courses and videos for free.
• Three categories: Business, Technology, and Creative, you can browse all the content to see which one you like to learn more about. You can also use "AI coaching" to ask questions, and it can recommend some courses.
• You can connect it with your LinkedIn profile. When you finish one course, you can add the certificate to your profile.
• Course examples:
  • Data Science Foundations: Fundamentals (Beginner, 5 hrs 24 mins)
  • Excel: Financial Functions in Depth (Intermediate, 2 hrs 33 mins)
  • Excel and PowerPoint: Creating High-Impact Financial Presentations (Intermediate, 2 hrs 6 mins)
  • Getting Started with Python for Finance (Beginner, 1 hr 39 mins)
  • Reading Corporate Financial Statements (Intermediate, 1 hr 8 mins)
  • Starting Your Career as a Financial Analyst (General, 44 mins)
  • Using Data in Financial Analysis (Intermediate, 1 hr 44 mins)

Bloomberg Certification:

• It can provide four certificates for NYU students for free: Finance Fundamentals, Market Concepts, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Spreadsheet Analysis.
• On the Web: Navigate to the Bloomberg for Education web portal and sign up with your @nyu.edu email address to enroll (if you have not done so already).
• At the Terminal:
  • Run the function BCER<GO> by entering BCER into the command line and hitting "enter".
  • Plug your headphones into the back of the Bloomberg keyboard.

• Individual account creation is required before you can log in. Account requests require a mandatory 7-10 business day processing period.
