Question: As a Member of a Libraries-Affiliated program, how do I log in to my NYU Libraries account?

Answer

I am having trouble accessing my library account online. What should I do?

I am a member of a Libraries-Affiliated Program. Do I have an NYU Libraries account?

Libraries-Affiliated Programs with Borrowing Privileges:

Libraries-Affiliated Program members with borrowing privileges have an NYU Libraries account and may sign in through the Library Affiliated Borrowers login link.

Members of the above programs may use the login credentials provided during their initial account set up at the Circulation service point on the 1st floor of Bobst Library.

Non-borrowing members of Libraries-Affiliated Programs:
  • OCLC SHARES members (non-Metro)
  • Columbia students and faculty (non-MaRLI affiliates)

Non-borrowing members of Libraries-Affiliated programs have building access for Bobst Library and can use on-site library materials and databases.

Members of the above non-borrowing programs can browse the Open Stacks and use databases at a public library terminal. Circulation Services staff can assist with retrieving circulating offsite material. Members of these programs also have access to search the library catalog online without a library account.

I am a member of a Libraries-Affiliated Program. How do I retrieve my login credentials?

  • Members of the following Libraries-Affiliated Programs with borrowing privileges have an NYU Libraries account:
  • Affiliates of a borrowing program must initially set up a library account and login credentials with staff at the Circulation service point on the 1st floor of Bobst Library. Please stop by the service point for initial account set up, and/or for assistance with resetting your password.
  • Affiliates of a non-borrowing program (Columbia [non-MaRLI], OCLC Shares [non-Metro], and Metro Referral visitors) do not have an NYU Libraries account.

I am a member of a Consortium Institution. How do I access my library catalog and library account?

  • Students and faculty from Consortium Institutions, including The New School (TNS), Cooper Union, and New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) should log in through their home institution site for My Account access and to browse the library catalog.

I am unsure if I have an active library account. What should I do?

  • For members of a Libraries-Affiliated Program with borrowing privileges, you will have visited Circulation service point on the 1st floor of Bobst Library to set up your library account and login credentials.
    • If you have not yet visited the service desk on the 1st floor of Bobst Library:
      • If you have not yet registered for building access, please see our pre-registration form
      • If your building access is active, please visit Circulation Services staff at the service desk on the 1st floor of Bobst Library.
  • For members of a Consortium Institution, please visit your home institution's libraries site for account access and assistance.
  • For additional NYU Libraries account questions, please contact lib-access-help@nyu.edu for assistance.

I am looking for resources specific to NYU Langone or NYU Grossman School of Medicine. What should I do?

  • All current NYU community members with an active netID can use the NYU Libraries catalog through the NYU login. Current faculty, students, and staff of the NYU School of Medicine may also access the Health Sciences Library. For account privileges and resources specific to the School of Medicine, please visit the Health Sciences Library catalog.

I am looking for resources specific to the NYU School of Law. What should I do?

  • All current NYU community members with an active netID can use the NYU Libraries catalog through the NYU login. Current faculty, students, and staff of the NYU School of Law may also access the NYU Law Library. For account privileges and resources specific to the School of Law, please visit the NYU Law Library catalog.

I have a METRO Referral and have received confirmation for access from Bobst Library staff. Do I need a library account?

  • No, you do not need a library account. A Library Staff Member should have reached out to you confirming availability of your requested material(s) and building access. Please see the confirmation email with details of your visit for information on how to access your requested material.
