Question: Can I place files in UltraViolet with a permanent embargo?

Answer

No. All materials must be made available under some form of access license, which will be selected at the time of deposit. The UltraViolet research repository cannot serve as a "dark archive" to hold files without some measure of access. A one-year embargo is permitted, however, and can be stipulated at the time of deposit, or a longer embargo if needed to fulfill research requirements. The metadata record for embargoed files will be publicly visible, although no users will be able to access the accompanying deposit files during the length of the embargo.
