How can I browse new DVD releases at the Avery Fisher Center?

The best way to accomplish that is to use search.library.nyu.edu Standard, an older version of search.library.nyu.edu that allows you to browse by call number.  You need to ask the AFC staff for the highest currently assigned DVD number, enter that prefix/ number (ex. DVD 55555) under the heading for Browse an Alphabetical List of Call Numbers, and then work your way backwards from that number.  You can also enter the DVD prefix with no call number, and you will see an unsorted listing of all the DVDs that are currently in processing in the library and have not yet been shelved.
