Question: What Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are available to me based on my location?

ILL services for electronic material (e-journals and scanned articles, scanned book chapters, or e-books) are available to NYU students, faculty, administrators, and staff, regardless of physical location.  E-books may be purchased for full book requests if an electronic version is available for purchase through library vendors. 

Physical ILL materials can be requested for pick up from an NYU library location or for home delivery if you are located in the domestic US.  The home delivery service is limited to full-time faculty and PhD users. Please review the location options below for more information on how ILL services for physical material are impacted by your location.

 
 
Locations Service Options

NYU New York (pickup from any library)

Print ILL and E-ZBorrow are available services. Non-circulating material such as rare books, microform formats, etc. can be requested.

Home Delivery (Faculty & PhD only)

Print ILL and E-ZBorrow are available services, though some lenders may deny a loan if delivery to our user includes shipping.  Non-circulating material will not be requested.  Shipping is limited to street addresses (no P.O. boxes) in the continental U.S.

NYU Remote (Global)

Print ILL and E-ZBorrow are not available services.  We may ask you to limit your request in order to source a scan of 1-2 chapters from a library partner.

NYU Abu Dhabi Campus

Print ILL and E-ZBorrow are available services. Non-circulating material such as rare books, microform formats, etc. may be requested, but lenders may deny the loan if the material would be shipped to an international campus.

NYU Shanghai (Academic Building and Go Local options)

Print ILL is an available service; Shanghai staff will work with other libraries to source material. E-ZBorrow is not an available service.

NYU Shanghai Remote

Print ILL and E-ZBorrow are not available services.  We may ask you to limit your request in order to source a scan of 1-2 chapters from a library partner.

Other

Tell us briefly in the request form note field about your affiliation and current location; we will reach out if we need to clarify what we can offer. If no additional information is provided, your request may be canceled.
