For access to the library's standard Pitchbook subscription, which requires no additional fee, please create an account using our NYU portal here.

Researcher account, also known as “enhanced account,” is the account type with advanced downloading capabilities.

Who is eligible for these accounts?

A researcher account is intended for faculty (limited to tenured/tenure track faculty), PhD students, and other NYU individuals working on high-level research. The account may only be used for education, research, and teaching purposes. For-profit and/or personal uses are strictly prohibited.

How do I initiate my request?

After reading the above, use the following form to initiate a researcher account request: Library Mediated Accounts Request Form. (Must log in with your @nyu.edu credentials.)

How long can I use my Pitchbook researcher account?
Upon approval, you will be assigned with a researcher account with 6-month access.

What is the downloading limit?

Exporting and printing: 

• 1,000 daily / 2,000 monthly rows of company, deal, or fund data;
• 500 daily / 1,000 monthly rows of people data.

Note: If your research requires a higher downloading limit, a researcher account may not meet your needs. You will need to work directly with Pitchbook to purchase a custom dataset.

Note:

Given that there is a limited number of licenses available for NYU researchers, 

1) for new applicants: you will be placed on a waitlist if all accounts have been taken by the time your application is received. You can work directly with Pitchbook support@pitchbook.com to purchase a researcher account if immediate access is needed;

2) Please reach out to the Business Librarians using our web form:

• If your NYU standing does not meet the eligibility criteria, but you are interested in discussing the possibility of using a research account. We will inquire further about your research project by asking additional questions.
• If you currently hold a Pitchbook researcher account and would like to extend your usage period.
