Question: Where can I find the index of resale values (Case Shiller Index) and other housing price indexes?

Answer

The Case Shiller Index (now known as the S&P Cotality Case-Shiller Index) provides monthly pricing/resale values back to 1987 for the United States and 20 metropolitan areas.

The index can be accessed from the Federal Reserve of St Louis FRED website

Limited data can also be accessed publicly on the S&P Global website.

The US Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) site also provides access to House Price Index (HPI) Datasets.

Currently-enrolled NYU users can access the Capital IQ database for more Case-Shiller index data.
