Country competitiveness can be defined as the set of institutions, policies and factors that determine the level of productivity of a country”.  A competitive economy is a productive one and productivity leads to growth, which leads to improved income levels.

World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report

Institute of Management Development (IMD) produces the IMD World Competitiveness Rankings 
Historical copies are available in print in Bobst Library World Competitiveness Report (1985-1995) World Competitiveness Yearbook (1996-2001) and IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook (2002-2010)
