Question: Where do I find intraday quotes for various types of securities?

Answer

Intraday is the "within the day" price movement of a stock.

Go to the Business Library's Company & Financial Information section for links to useful resources including the following suggested resource.

Bloomberg:  Enter the stock's ticker then hit EQUITY. Enter QR and hit GO.  You can change the date and the time interval.

Please note that Bloomberg is accessible in the Bobst Library.  To use this resource, stop by the 5th floor Research Commons.

Go to tour Bloomberg Guide, which has information on the basics for getting started as well as tips, tricks and shortcuts.

TAQ (via WRDS)

The NYSE Trade and Quote (TAQ) database offers tick-by-tick trade and quote data of all activity within the U.S. National Market System. TAQ provides transaction information at the intraday level (to the microsecond) covering over 10,000 stock issues listed on 16 major American exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), American Stock Exchange (AMEX), and Nasdaq.  Requires an individual WRDS account.

TAQ data is made available through two datasets:

1. Milliscond Tade and Quote - "Daily Product".  2003 - present, updated daily

2. Trade and Quote "Monthly Product". 1993 - 2014

Manuals and overviews are available for both databases on WRDS.

You may also want to review: Google Finance for select stock markets intraday data.
