Question: Where can I find U.S. regional economic data?

Economic data consists of quantitative measures that describe an actual economy, past or present.

Go to the Virtual Business Library's Economic and Statistical Information section for links to useful resources including links to the following suggested resources below.

American Fact Finder: Go to the Community Factset section for popular facts (population, income, etc.) and frequently requested data about a community.

Data-Planet Statistical Datasets: Go to the U.S.State Statistical Overviews tab. You may need to enter a text search first in order to have the tab option.

You may want to consult the NYU guide on Economic Resources.

You may also want to consult the following resources:

Federal Reserve’s FRED Economic Data website.

GPO’s Economic Indicators: Monthly publication prepared by the Council of Economic Advisers provides economic information on gross domestic product, income, employment, production, business activity, prices, money, credit, security markets, Federal finance, and international statistics.

United States Census Bureau Economic Indicators.
