Every country has a Central Bank to regulate its monetary policy. It is the authority to issue currency. It also acts as Banker to the Government and Bankers' Bank. 

The Bank for International Settlements: "BIS" is the world's oldest international financial organization. The BIS membership consists of 63  central banks, representing countries from around the world.
