Question: Where can I find a company tearsheet?

Answer

In the financial context, a tear sheet is a brief statement of information on various publicly-traded companies and is generally referring to the Standard & Poor's summary sheet.

Go to the Business Library's Company & Financial Information section for links to useful resources including links to the following suggested resources.

Factiva: Go to the Companies/Markets tab and enter the company in the search bar.  Choose the entity for a Company Snapshot.

Hoover's: Go the search bar and enter the company name and choose the entity for a company summary.

Standard & Poor’s NetAdvantage: Go to the search bar and enter the company name, choose the entity you want and select Company Tearsheet under the Company tab to the left.

You may want to consult the NYU guide on US Company and Industry Information for details on the resources above as well as other resources.
