Question: I'm a Stern student but cannot access any of the databases remotely, can you help?

Answer

In order to access databases and other electronic resources remotely, you must use your NYU net ID and password, as your Stern account will not work for this. If you do not already have an NYU HOME account, you can activate one at http://start.nyu.edu

Enter your NetID, printed on your NYU card. If you do not yet have your NetID, follow the instructions on the NYU Start page to find out what this is.

Follow the steps to activate your account and create your password.

If you are behind a firewall or using an internet anonymizer you will not have access to the databases. You may also try another internet browser. Internet Explorer and Firefox work best. Certain databases require an updated version of IE. Chrome works better than Safari.
