As a member of the Metropolitan New York Library Council METRO, NYU honors METRO card referrals. You may request a METRO card referral at one of 270 member libraries and library systems in New York City and Westchester County. A METRO referral card allows an individual a one-time-only visit to a library to use a specified item in the library.

The Title Referral is not intended for general use of a library's collections or services. Patrons with Metro Library Referrals need a government issued ID to enter the building. Once a referral is placed on your behalf, the library will reach out to you with more information on how to gain access to the building. 

METRO passes can be issued for offsite materials. The referring librarian should contact our Circulation Department to request offsite materials. Requested items will be available behind the circulation desk within 2 business days. Up to 12 title referrals will be accepted from each individual per semester.

NYU library users that need access to items not available at Bobst may request a METRO referral card at Bobst Library's reference desk or using the Ask a Librarian virtual services.
