NYU New York: If a book is listed as "available" in search.library.nyu.edu but is not on the shelf in Bobst Library, we will help you with alternate options, such as E-ZBorrow or Interlibrary Loan. Also be on the lookout for things like whether the item is part of a reference or oversized collection. Also, note that each floor in Bobst has a sorting area where you can find books that are technically available but need to be put away. If you are still unable to find the item, you may ask for assistance at the circulation desk.
