Question: BobCat says a book is available but I can't find it on the shelf
Answer
NYU New York: If a book is listed as "available" in BobCat but is not on the shelf in Bobst Library, you may submit a Quick Search request. Bobst Library staff will do a thorough search for the book and contact you in 24 hours with the results of the search. If we find the book, we will hold it for you at the circulation desk on the 1st floor. If we do not find the book, we will help you with alternate options, such as E-ZBorrow or Interlibrary Loan. Before you submit your Quick Search request, you may want to double-check availability and also be on the lookout for things like whether the item is part of a reference or oversized collection. Also, note that each floor in Bobst has a sorting area where you can find books that are technically available but need to be put away. If you are still unable to find the item, you are ready to submit your Quick Search request. Alternately, you may request a quick search in person at the circulation desk in Bobst.
NYU Abu Dhabi: Be sure that the item says it is "available" at the NYU Abu Dhabi Library (UAE), not Bobst Library or a Consortium Library. For assistance, please come to the Information Desk on the main floor of the Library and we will be happy to help you find the book.
NYU Shanghai: Be sure that the item says it is "available" at the NYU Shanghai, not Bobst Library or a Consortium Library. For assistance, please come to the Information Desk on the main floor of the Library and we will be happy to help you find the book.
