Answer

"Check Availability" indicates the the book in question is not currently on the shelf at Bobst Library.  It may be kept in storage or it may be on loan or otherwise unavailable.  Click on "Check Availability" and follow the request prompts in search.library.nyu.edu.  Items in storage will say "Offsite Available" and take 2 days to arrive at Bobst; items that are unavailable for loan may be requested through E-ZBorrow or Interlibrary Loan by eligible patrons.
