Question: Where do I find information on a country's political risk, etc.?

Answer

Political Risk is “the risk of operating or investing in a country where political changes may have an adverse impact on earnings or returns.”

Go to the Business Library's Economics & Statistics section for links to useful resources, including the following suggested resources:

FitchConnect: Formerly called BMI Research, FitchConnect contains proprietary data, rankings, ratings and forecasts for many countries and industries.   Their research features country risk, financial market analysis and industry research.  Currently FitchConnect is only accessible when on campus or via NYU VPN.

EIU Country Risk Service: Provides continuously updated political, economic, and financial risk analysis for over 100 countries.

Political Risk Yearbook and CountryData: Political Risk Services (PRS) measures and forecasts Political Risk. It uses over 75 variables for more than 150 countries. Updated monthly with archives back to 1984.
