Question: How do I access library databases remotely?

Answer

To access databases and other electronic resources remotely, you must locate the database using the library website, or the Research tab in NYUHome. Then you will log in with your NYU NetID and password.

If you have not yet activated your NYU NetID and password, do so at http://start.nyu.edu Enter the NetID that is printed on your NYU card. If you do not yet have your NYU card, follow the instructions on the NYU Start page to find your NetID. Follow the steps to activate your account and create your password.

If you are behind a firewall, or using any kind of VPN or internet anonymizer, you will need to disable these to access the databases. You will also need to disable the NYU VPN to access library databases.

Please note: if you are affiliated with Stern or NYU Med Center (Langone), you cannot use your Stern account or your Kerberos ID to access library databases. You must activate your NYU NetID and password.
